As you can tell by the picture, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the two greatest of all time, in my eyes. Now, who trumps the other? Is it the little man from Rosario? Or is it the machine from Madeira?
Both of these men are exceptional players and have a substantial lead over all the other footballers to have ever exist. The question to be answered now is who is better than the other, and the answer is neither, both of them are the Greatest Of All Time so far. Let me explain, both men have so amazing carrers, beaten every record, won every trophy there is to win, it is very difficult to prefer one. The one thing that sets this two men apart and that it gives CR7 a slight edge over the Argentinian, is his trophy in the Euros with Portugal in 2016. I say slight because of everything I already mentioned, but when it comes to give one of them the acronim of GOAT, it gives a massive weigh to Ronaldo, if by the time they retire, LM10 has no trophy with the Albiceleste, the Portuguese should be renowned the Greatest to grace the game, but if Messi manages to lift a trophy with Argentina, I believe it comes down to every person's taste, and the way you are looking at them. If you like a more attacking, "violent" football, you are going to prefer Ronaldo, but if you are more into an artistic approach, a more collective, rather than individual football, Messi is your Greatest Of All Time. Personally, I would give my vote for Ronaldo, not only because he has lifted something Messi doesn´t got, and has shined in many countries, but because I feel Ronaldo is a bit more balanced.
Generally speaking, Lionel has more of collective style, creating elegantly chances and goals and almost always sticks to that. Ronaldo is more individual and more explosive, but he has various times that elegance the tiny magician has, whereas Messi not always has the explosiveness that the Portuguese tank has. To know who is the greatest out of these two, it comes down to taste and for me, Cristiano Ronaldo is the Greatest Of All Time.
