Burnley, the saviour of a washed-up Mourinho

Updated: Sep 5, 2018

The team from Lancashire saves Mou from losing his job after, not only, a horrible start of season, but a terrible job leading Manchester United all this years.

The Portuguese manager could have lost his job this week, but after winning the match against Burnley 2-0, he got spared, regardless the humilliating 3-0 loss against the Spurs at Old Trafford. The home team of the match was no match for the individual talents of the Manchester United and that is the reason they lost, not because Mourinho led United to victory. From the moment he signed for the team, everyone was excited, including myself, after many years the team could finally win the league, fight for the Champions League, but no. No one has managed to fit Sir Alex Ferguson´s shoes, not even one percent of them, Mou is slowing the team´s winning ways, Van Gaal was a disgrace for the team, and Moyes, there are not enough insults in a dictionary to express how I feel about that poor excuse of the chosen one to fullfill Ferguson´s place.

Maybe I am being a little harsh on Mou, after all, he won us the Europa League, something that no one truly cares about, against Ajax, a team filled with unexperienced kids. Wait, I forgot he won the Community Shield against Leicester City, a team whose starting eleven can be bought with just Pogba´s worth, I guess that isn´t that bad though. We did won the league cup, after struggling with Southampton, but they are one of the best teams in the league, right? To be fair, like Mourinho said, he has won three Premier Leagues, and the other nineteen managers combined two, but let´s look only at the other five managers that have a real shot at winning the title. I can´t say anything regarding Pochettino and Klopp because they had some years, but Sarri and Emery are debuting on the league right now, so they can´t possibly have Premier Leagues on their name, but Mou failed to mention that he has been in the English Football League for 10 seasons and Guardiola, just in his second one had already a third of the Premier Leagues he has won, just in his second season, what he worked to do in ten seasons, Guardiola did a third of it in just two seasons, so, am I being unfair with his work?
